(17/2/13) Let’s ARong 2013 !

Gunung Arong Recreational Forest is a forest reserve in Mersing DistrictJohor. Visitors to Gunung Arong Recreational Forest can enjoy the stream that runs through the forest. At the peak, hikers are rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the South China Sea and its neighboring islands. On a clear weather, you can see Pulau Tioman too. This is a 2 hour hike up the 255 metres high Gunung Arong Forest Reserve Mountain.

See this video for the view at the summit.

After the climb, we will chill out at Tanjung Resang Beach. Tanjung Resang beach is normally subjected to rough waves and wind. But the sombre tone of the sand which matches the wild nature of this spot makes it a popular destination.

We will have a meal before we come back to Singapore.

Ans: Yes, minimal. Definitely not as many as Gunung Panti
  • How long is the journey from Singapore to our hiking place?

Ans: If smooth traffic, we should be there in 4.0 hours.

  • Are there any Steep slopes to climb or descend?
Ans: Yes there are some steep slope and rocky terrain. This is doable for anyone that has some reasonable fitness.

During the hike we focus very much on group dynamics, and it’s a rule of thumb that nobody will be left behind. We’re all links in the hiking chain and nobody is more or less important than anybody else… For every hike, i will be the last one to leave the venue in order to be sure that everybody made it out safely. Creating an adventurous but most of all a safe hiking experience is our goal.
